Latest Images – Ardnamurchan

Whilst launching the new site I am taking the opportunity to release a collection of new images from a trip I undertook in September last year. My main location for the trip was the Isles of Mull and Iona but I took the opportunity to go the long way round via Glencoe, Corran Ferry and the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.

The stunning Ardnamurchan (Headland of the Great Seas) Peninsula is the most westerly part of the British mainland and is quite literally the end of the road. This is a beautiful but unforgiving and remote corner of Scotland, with amazing seascapes at every turn. The harsh landscape is relieved by a whole series of superb sandy beaches.

The name Ardnamurchan these days is often taken to include the neighbouring districts of Morvern, Ardgour, Moidart and Sunart, all a world away from the busy land across the Corran Ferry. Its remoteness is accentuated by the main access route being a single track road for much of its length.

Why not let me know if you have visited the area as it would be great to hear from you about your visit.
